Studying, Building, Crafting

I'm still enthusiastically lost in the labyrinth that is Racket, Scheme, and the broader Lisp family of languages. Still working on the secret tabletop project. Translation to Racket is complete, now I'm working on building the app out further. Still percolating on some secret videogame projects. I want to finish the tabletop project before diving in deeper here.

I'm no longer working on the homelab. My spouse and I bought a house, and… electricity is expensive. But I'm looking more at setting up a VPS instead for such things. Discord further enshittifying is leading me to set up a proper IRC server to replace The Wasteland Discord. And that will be the tip of the iceberg, I think.

Reading, Playing, Listening, Watching

Reading had a banner year in 2025, in terms of volume and in selection. I'm off to a slower start in 2026. Lots of other things are taking my attention.

Tabletop games have been on a long hiatus, since March 2025. A dear friend died, then my spouse and I bought a house… but I'm trying to restart the UVG campaign soon!

Video games have been more focused: Abiotic Factor consumed most of the second half of 2025, and Enshrouded has been the highlight of 2026 so far. Trying out some demos from the Steam Next Fest. I want to get back into Farming Simulator 25. I have my eyes on (when time and funds allow): Europa Universalis V, Heart of the Machine, Terra Invicta, and Cairn.

Podcasts are the same list as before, and I'm still feeling disconnected from music. Sure, I'll get a brainworm and need to listen to the thing (hello, TRON: Legacy), but I'm not craving it.

Not watching much. A Knight's Tale was great. I sometimes turn to Schitt's Creek as an idle comfort rewatch.

Working

I still have a day job as a lead data engineer in the pharmaceutical industry.
